About Alejandro
Alejandro Gutierrez brings together long-term meditation practice, formal teacher training, education, facilitation, executive leadership, and a lifelong commitment to community.

A local and lived perspective
Alejandro is a first-generation Chicano raised in Bloomington in San Bernardino County. He began his work in public life as a student leader, later becoming a classroom educator, social entrepreneur, facilitator, and nonprofit executive.
Across those roles, one question has remained constant: how do people stay connected to purpose while carrying pressure, responsibility, and the needs of others?
Grounded Service grew from that question. It brings the inner work of awareness and compassion into the places where leadership is practiced every day.
Where the work began
Before Grounded Service, Alejandro created Lifting Our Stories, a youth leadership program rooted in outdoor learning and community. He developed the curriculum and personally facilitated meditation, reflection, and self-leadership practices with young people across San Bernardino County.
That experience reinforced a principle that now runs through Grounded Service: resilience grows through practice—in relationship, in real environments, and with meaningful opportunities to lead.

How Alejandro teaches
Each learning experience is designed to meet people with respect and leave them with something usable.
People learn best when participation is invitational, language is accessible, and their experience is respected.
Meditation becomes meaningful when it helps with meetings, classrooms, relationships, and decisions under pressure.
Steadiness, awareness, and compassion shape how we use responsibility and how others experience our leadership.
